Airlines check every name and document, so Shaffl checks them with you before you pay.
Names
- Write each name exactly as it is on the passport or ID, in English letters.
- Names can’t be changed after booking, so check them before you pay.
- Two travellers can’t share a document number, or have the same name in the same age group (adults, children or infants).
Documents
- Every traveller needs a nationality and a document: a National ID or a passport.
- Flights inside Egypt: Egyptians can travel on their 14-digit National ID. Travellers who aren’t Egyptian need a passport.
- With a National ID, the date of birth and title must match the card.
- Flights abroad: every traveller needs a passport.
- A passport must still be valid after your last flight lands. On a trip abroad, it must also be valid for at least six months after each arrival (stops on the way don’t count). An Egyptian flying home to Egypt only needs it valid on the day they land.
Adults, children and infants
- Adults are 12 and over, children 2 to 11, and infants under 2 for the whole trip. An infant sits on an adult’s lap.
- Airlines check ages on your travel dates, and some count them differently (for example, adults from 14). If a traveller doesn’t fit the airline’s rule, Shaffl tells you before you pay.
- A booking can have up to 9 travellers, with at least one adult and no more than one infant per adult.
